Leadership demands that you stay on top of your game, whatever field you're in. And that demands continual learning.
To stay ahead, you have to read ahead. To keep leading you have to keep learning. That may sound cliche, but it's so very true.
Real leaders are learners.
I have committed myself to being a lifelong student. I think that is part of the price I have to pay to effectively execute my assignment as a public speaker and teacher of God's Word.
That's why I read daily, no matter what.
If you are a reader today, you'll be a leader tomorrow. Don't settle for mental atrophy, keep learning and reading even long after your formal school days are over.
That is one sure way of curing your destination disease - that feeling that you have arrived and you need do nothing more to succeed. Perish that line of thought, you must keep learning.
You're only through when you're through learning. You're old when you stop learning, whether you are 20 or 80! To help you along this line I've written a book on this subject soon to hit the book-stands. I believe it will help you. Lay your hands on it. You will succeed!
